Measure 26-214: Preschool Tax

Measure 26-214 would tax “the rich” to pay for preschool. The rich in this case are singles earning $125,000 or couples earning $200,000. They’d pay a 2.3 percent income tax. At $250,000 and $400,000 that jumps to 3.8 percent.

Want to convince everyone making a decent income to move out of town while attracting people looking for free stuff? This is kind of measure will do it. Those who can’t leave will be left to fend off the stabbers, especially stabbers with young kids who will flock to town.

Universal preschool is great, but everyone needs to have some skin in the game paying for it.
